Living in Dartmouth: Discover Nova Scotia’s City of Lakes

Rent One of Our Apartments in Dartmouth

In 1750, the sailing ship Alderney arrived with 151 immigrants who settled on the eastern side of Halifax Harbour. Since that time, Dartmouth has grown to a city of just over 100,000 which is now part of the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Lakes and trees
Dartmouth folks love their lakes and the abundance of green space throughout their city. Lake Banook is a well-known destination for world-class canoe and kayak events, and residents can enjoy the walking trails of Shubie Park, a 40-acre urban park which connects to the Trans-Canada Trail.

You’ll love the shopping!
Dartmouth is home to downtown shops, and two popular regional shopping destinations: Mic Mac Mall, a three-level centre with 160 shops and services, and Dartmouth Crossing, a retail park which features 20 big box stores, 40 shops, 15 boutiques, 20 restaurants, 2 hotels, and a movie theatre.
